Summer on Clear CreekThe best things in life are free. Dog walking, people watching, tubing and sunbathing are just a few of the activities visitors and residents enjoy along the banks of Clear Creek.

You're going to have a good time . . .

What's your poison?  Museums? Tubing? Art? Hiking? Biking? Eating? Theater? Golf? Golden has that, and more.

By all means, join the tens of thousands of people who take the free MillerCoors brewery tour of the world's third largest brewery each year, complete with free samples, the Colorado Railroad Museum and Buffalo Bill's Grave and Museum. But then park your car, and spend some time enjoying the many other activities that are within an easy walk or bike ride of historic downtown.

From the Golden Visitors Center, the bridge over Clear Creek will take you into historic downtown Golden, where you'll find the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, places to eat and drink, and a host of galleries and shops of every description. Or take the path along Clear Creek and walk west past several of Golden's pieces of public art. On any warm day, you'll encounter tubers and kayakers in the creek. Cross the Billy Drew Foot Bridge, and tour the Twelfth Street Historic District, or backtrack along Clear Creek and meander through the nineteenth century by way of the Clear Creek History Park.
